Lina Merkord recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in Geography at Humboldt University in Berlin and is now starting her Master’s at Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. Growing up in Germany’s Ruhrgebiet area, shaped by structural change, Lina has developed a keen interest in how post-industrial urban spaces transform. She is particularly curious about spatial urban conflicts and how such tensions reveal global power dynamics, as well as struggles over space, resources, and identity that influence everyday urban life.
