Jonas Jarl

  • Playwright and Director
  • CommunityKulturCentrum

Jonas Jarl, born in 1965 in Sala, Sweden, is a playwright and director. Since 2011, he has exchanged traditional performing arts for an inclusive form of theatre, where all participants contribute their own story, their knowledge and the right to decide when a work is ready to meet an audience. In all of Jarl’s productions, professional expertise and local expertise come together. His work spans from newly written Swedish drama to adaptations of old classics. A selection of Jarl’s productions include Spring Hadi, spring! (2017), HUD KRIG HEM (2018), Timmarna innan gränsen (2021), Kvarteret Korpen (2024) and Assalamu Aleikum (2024).  Today, Jonas Jarl is the director of CommunityKulturCentrum in Malmö.
