Jacob Kimvall is an art critic and senior lecturer in art history and visual studies at the teachers’ education at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. He has researched graffiti as a phenomenon created by various institutional agents as well as subcultural actors. In addition to formal education and research, he is involved in popular adult education (folkbildning) and serves as a board member of Folkrörelsernas konstfrämjande (the People’s Movements for Art Promotion), and President of the Swedish Art Critics’ Association (AICA Sweden).
