Erica Åberg is a university lecturer in economic sociology at the University of Turku. Her research interests include appearance-based inequality, sociology of consumption, and more recently, Nordic drill rap music as a lens through which to explore societal developments and expressions of solidarity from the perspective of young people — all within the context of the Nordic welfare state and its ideals of assumed equality.
