Jakob Ingemann Parby is a senior researcher and curator at the Museum of Copenhagen with a long and diverse engagement with urban history, primarily the history of Copenhagen since 1750. He has published extensively on urban infrastructures, as well as the history of urban migration and identity and is currently working on the subjects of urban sensorial history and the everyday life of urban monuments. As PI of the research project, The Sound of Copenhagen, he has been working extensively with the aural history of the 19^th century European city since 2020. In May 2025, he published the monograph Lyden af Hovedstaden at GADs Forlag, which offers a thorough and opened the related exhibition The Sound of Copenhagen – noise, voices and silences. Among his most important exhibition projects are Becoming a Copenhagener (2010-15), The WALL (2010-15) and the permanent galleries of the new Museum of Copenhagen (2021-).
