Anna Litsmark, PhD student in Environmental Psychology, Department of Architecture and Built Environment, LTH, Faculty of Engineering, Lund University. Anna is a PhD student in Environmental Psychology at Lund University, working in a project focusing on children’s independent mobility during dark hours and the potential role of outdoor lighting for their mobility. By conducting studies with children (ages 10–13) and their parents in three Swedish cities at different latitudes, she explores how darkness and outdoor lighting affect children’s experiences, feelings, and ability to be independently mobile outdoors during dark hours. With a background as a gardener specialized in health and design (bachelor’s degree in biology, master’s degree in landscape architecture), she has a particular interest in how people experience, use, and are affected by outdoor environments, as well as how these environments can be designed to promote health and well-being.
