Alicia Smedberg is a fourth-year PhD candidate at Malmö University, who thoroughly believes that the best way to understand something is by getting your hands dirty. Her research primarily sits within the field of Participatory Design but draws heavily from Science and Technology Studies (STS) and Feminist Technoscience. Her dissertation explores how democratic spaces can be created in the public sector through the acts of articulation and co-creation. Alicia holds two masters (M.Des; M.Res) from the Glasgow School of Art, where she explored practice-led research as a designer and has previously worked as a graphic designer.
