Sofia Leoni

Sofia Leoni is an architect and holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Development from Politecnico di Torino. Her work explores the shifting geographies of contemporary China, focusing on how platform economies are transforming rural territories, everyday infrastructures, labor practices, and socio-spatial ecologies. Since 2022, she has been a member of the China Room research group at Politecnico di Torino and is an external research fellow at the GBA Lab, Shenzhen University. She holds a B.Arch. and M.Arch. from Politecnico di Torino, as well as a second M.Arch. from Tsinghua University in Beijing. She has been a visiting scholar at Shenzhen University and a visiting research fellow at Brown University, Rhode Island.
