Dikchha Tiwari is a PhD candidate in the Department of Architecture and Planning at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. Her research focuses on youth migration, rental housing, and the everyday negotiations that shape urban experience for young people in Indian cities. Drawing on feminist and ethnographic approaches, her fieldwork engages with student and migrant populations in Dehradun and Prayagraj to explore how safety, autonomy, and affordability are contested in housing practices. Trained in architecture and planning with a specialization in housing, she is interested in understanding how urban space is lived, regulated, and resisted through the lens of gender and mobility.
